GUESTS WORK HANDS-ON WITH SIX ESTABLISHED ARTISTS; ENJOY BARBECUE DINNER, SILENT AUCTION, AND SCAVENGER HUNT AT PARRISH ART MUSEUM’S SUMMER FAMILY PARTY

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Event Includes Workshops with Anne Bae, Brian Farrell, Sheree Hovsepian,
Lynn Leff, Paton Miller, Liz Sloan
The Parrish Art Museum’s fourth annual Summer Family Party, on Sunday, August 13, from 3–6pm, will feature informal workshops where children and adults can interact with and learn first-hand from established, practicing artists. Anne Bae will lead workshops on paper flower making, Brian Farrell will engage guests in a collaborative mural, Sheree Hovsepian will show guests how to make sun prints,  Lynn Leff will create pinch pots, Paton Miller will give drawing with charcoal mini-lessons, and Liz Sloan will work with collage. Guests may join additional creative activities and tours, and dinner including barbeque and kid friendly options, catered by the Golden Pear.
The Summer Family Party activities further the Museum’s mission to foster connections among individuals, art, and artists of many disciplines. Many of the visual artists leading the inspiring workshops—established, working practitioners in a variety of media—have a long relationship with the Parrish; Bae andMiller are represented in the Parrish collection.
In addition to an afternoon of art-making, other creative activities include an art scavenger hunt through the galleries of the Parrish, bag decorating, docent-led tours, fun lawn activities, and the opportunity to create a classic flipbook. Children will use images from their own on-camera skits improvised under the guidance of an experienced instructor from Flippin’ Good Time to create a take-home flipbook. Adults can participate in the silent auction.
Tickets to the Summer Family Party, a benefit to support the Museum’s year-round initiatives, start at $75 for Members and include all activities plus the family-favorite menu of food and beverages.
