Talk: The Curator’s View: Alicia Longwell on Fred W. McDarrah
Friday, January 11, 6 pmJoin Chief Curator Alicia Longwell in an illustrated talk on the intimate, revelatory portraits of artists by McDarrah – The Village Voice staff photographer who chronicled the New York political and cultural scene. The images, dating from 1959 – 1979, plus works by the artists are on view in the Permanent Collection exhibition.

Every Picture Tells a Story explores the ways images carry narrative meaning and features over 40 new acquisitions, including paintings by David Salle and Photorealist artists, plus focused surveys of Fairfield Porter and Louisa Chase.
