Long Island Museum Takes Manhattan

On Wednesday, October 3 the Long Island Museum will host a bus excursion to three iconic Manhattan landmarks.

The journey begins at 6:45 a.m. aboard an air-conditioned coach in Stony Brook. A second pick-up at Christopher Morley Park in Roslyn will depart at 7 a.m. After a relaxing ride, participants will visit the New York Public Library for a guided tour of the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building on Fifth Avenue and access the Rose Main Reading Room and other must-see library spaces.
Next stop on the tour is Bryant Park where guests will take a docent-led tour to learn about the park’s rich history and award-winning design. After a quick over to Fifth Avenue, the group will enjoy lunch at the Great Northern Food Hall in Grand Central Station, followed by a private tour of the Terminal where you’ll learn about its state-of-the-art design and construction, and discover its hidden secrets.
Buses will depart from the Long Island Museum parking lot at 6:45 a.m. and Christoper Morley Park at 7. Estimated return time is 6 p.m. in Roslyn and 7 p.m. in Stony Brook. Tickets are $135 each and $125 for members, which include transportation, lunch and all tour fees. Pre-registration is required by calling the Long Island Museum at 631-751-0066 x212.
