Sunday Street Concert Series pays tribute to Bob Dylan

On Sunday, May 20 at 7 p.m., the Long Island Museum, the Greater Port Jefferson-Northern Brookhaven Arts Council and WUSB-FM will present a tribute to Bob Dylan, An annual event in The Sunday Street Series since 2005 to mark the May 24th 1941 birthday of this legendary singer/songwriter. 
This year is also the 35th anniversary of the release of Dylan’s 1983 Infidels album and the 40th anniversary of 1978’s Street Legal’s release, so visitors can expect to hear songs from both along with classics from the entire Dylan catalogue right up to his recent albums. 
Anchoring the evening’s celebration will be Pete and Maura Kennedy, who return for their 11th Dylan Birthday celebration in the Sunday Street series. Guitars, sitars and even ukuleles come into play when The Kennedys “do Dylan.” (www.kennedysmusic.com
Rod MacDonald, one of America’s finest singer-songwriters and an acknowledged master at interpreting Dylan, returns for another Dylanfest at LIM. Rod and his band Big Brass Bed have released three albums of Dylan songs. (www.rodmacdonald.net). 
Russ Seeger, of Levon Helm’s Last Hombres, interprets lesser-known Dylan songs and adds great fiddle and guitar work to Dylan classics.  
Also in the band: Brian Kachejian on keyboards, Steve Kaplan on bass and Tom Ryan (of the Last Hombres) on drums. And who knows who else might appear as special guests?
