Walk along the Red Trail and read a story with your children as you go!

Saturday, February 2, 10 AM-noon

Join us to make a difference – help remove vines that kill trees! Bring work gloves. Water and

snack provided.

Family Fun: Build a Birdfeeder Workshop

Saturday, February 9, 1-2:30 PM

Check out Mashomack Manor House and help our feathered friends by building a bird feeder. Enjoy hot chocolate, cider and doughnuts.

Kid’s Winter Break Workshop

Thursday, February 21, 2-3:30 PM

What’s out and about in the “dead of winter?” We’ll hike, look for tracks, learn how animals

survive and make a snack. Grades K & up.

Mashomack Point: A Tour of the Katherine Ordway Wildlife Refuge

Saturday, February 23, 1-4 PM

Mashomack Point is open for a guided walk just once a year. Explore this unique area’s woodlands,

kettles, and fields, culminating with a breathtaking view of Northwest Harbor.

Bluffs of Mashomack: Views of a Changing Coastline

Enjoy a truck ride and take a few short walks to see great views our natural coastlines. Learn

about the climate-changing future for our coasts.

Vernal Equinox

Wednesday, March 20, 7 AM-7 PM

In celebration of spring, trails will be open ALL DAY from dawn to dusk for self-guided walks.

Become a Bluebird and Tree Swallow Volunteer

Saturday, March 23, 4-5 PM

Ever see a bluebird? How about eggs in a nest, or live baby birds? Get involved in this engaging

monitoring project on New York’s state bird.

Rare, Big and Odd Tree Tour

Saturday, March 30, 1-3 PM

A rare chance to explore the interior areas of Mashomack by truck and hike. We’ll view

different forest types and find tall tulip trees, a huge white oak, a healthy elm tree, and an

American Chestnut.
