Bridge Gardens
We have an amazing group of artists who have donated FABULOUS birdhouses for this fundraiser for the Peconic Land Trust.
The works of art will be on display and available for bidding all summer long. Stop by and check it out, then place your bids!

Discover the artist within at this inspiring outdoor painting series with local artist Suzzanne Fokine. Technical knowledge and guidance provided throughout, and workshops are open to all levels.
Botanical Art Workshops with Barbara Stype
SERIES: Thursdays in July and August @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Unleash your inner artist at this wonderful series! Learn to capture the garden’s beauty on paper with local botanical artist, Barbara Stype. Barbara will guide you in working with flowers, fruits, and other natural subjects. Group size is limited.
Mid-Summer Rose Care

Caring for roses in the garden doesn’t have to be an intensive labor of love. Join this workshop, led by Garden Manager Rick Bogusch and Paul Wagner, owner of Greener Pastures Organics, and learn proper pruning techniques, timely organic soil and pest treatments, and proper sanitation of cuttings for healthy roses. 
Open House at U.S. Coast Guard Shinnecock

Meet the Peconic Land Trust at the U.S. Coast Guard station for a day of marine-centered fun! You’ll get up close to a helicopter, boats and equipment used for sea rescue and meet the brave women and men who dedicate their lives to keeping commercial and recreational fishermen safe. Free.

Creating Natural Insect Repellent Sprays

Many herbs are natural insect repellents; planting certain herbs will also repel insect pests which otherwise eat your plants. Join Peconic Land Trust and meet herbalist Heather Cusack to learn how to enjoy the outdoors without attracting ticks, mosquitoes and other biting insects.

Who Lives Under the Sea

New Suffolk Waterfront
Bring your children to the beach for a fun exploration with the Peconic Land Trust. Educators from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation will engage your children with fun facts about creatures living in our local bays and offer a craft activity. 
Lost Ladybug Search

The Peconic Land Trust and the South Fork Natural History Museum (SoFO) have teamed up with Dr. Leslie Allee of Cornell University for their annual search for “lost ladybugs.” Help look for the extremely rare 9-spotted ladybug, New York State’s official insect, and aid in Dr. Allee’s research. 
Fridays at Six: Music Night

Enjoy a glorious summer evening at the Peconic Land Trust’s music night, featuring talented singer-songwriter Jack Licitra performing relaxed blues. Bridge Gardens will provide the beautiful, flower-filled setting, just bring your picnic, a blanket, and friends while you enjoy the magic of a summer sunset.  
Sunset Paddle and PIcnic on North Sea Harbor

Conscience Point, North Sea
Bring a picnic for this evening paddle of North Sea Harbor led by Mike Bottini, author of “Exploring East End Waters.” Beginning at historic Conscience Point, you’ll paddle through a town shellfish sanctuary and along the shoreline of Conscience Point National Wildlife Refuge. Space is limited, reserve today.
Fridays at 4: Tasting and Tour
Friday, July 28 @ 4:00 pm
Join the Peconic Land Trust for a guided walk paired with a local beverage at this fun summer series. Anthony Sannino, winemaker at Sannino Bella Vita Vineyard of Peconic will pour tastings of his delicious wine before you set off with Garden Manager Rick Bogusch to explore the gardens.
Wilderness Camp with Tipi Ted
July 30 through August 3
Downs Farm Preserve, 23800 Main Road, Cutchogue
Campfire cooking and safety, bow and arrows, making tools and toys of native children, stringing jewelry and crafting animal skin pouches all help fill a week of fun and learning about how Native Americans lived.
