     History Unearthed – A Walking Tour of the Old Burying Grounds


On Saturday, October 28, Tony Garro will lead a guided tour of the Old Burying Ground, the village’s original municipal burial site, opened was opened in 1767 and the last burial was in 1871.

Tony will share his knowledge of the burying ground and talk about several Revolutionary and historical figures interred at the site. Meet at the entrance to the Old Burying Ground on Union Street next to the Old Whalers’ Church.

Preregistration and payment is required beforehand, and can be done either through the ticket link at our website or by calling us and speaking to a staff member at (631) 725-0770 from 10am to 4:30pm. The fee is $15 per person and there is a 20 person maximum so please register ASAP. Tour starts at 2pm and lasts approx. 1-1/2 to2 hours.

             All proceeds go to benefit the Sag Harbor Whaling & Historical Museum
