SOUTHAMPTON ARTS CENTER

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
FRIDAYS ARE FOR FILM @ SAC!
Now with new state-of-the-art equipment, Southampton Arts Center is a premier destination for the most sought-after films. SAC is the place to be every Friday night!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Southampton Arts Center is thrilled to announce a commitment to offering film programs every Friday night year-round beginning February 16. After undergoing a major upgrade to their theatre, including a brand-new screen, surround sound system, state-of-the-art projector, and digital cinema package (DCP), plus comfortable new chairs, the space is primed to become one of the top venues to screen new releases, award-winning documentaries, best of fest selections, and more. SAC’s plan is to present Southampton with the kind of cinematic experiences that have previously only been available in Sag Harbor and East Hampton.

Amy Kirwin, Southampton Arts Center Director of Programs says “We know there is an audience for these critically acclaimed, less-commercial films and are excited to have such wide-ranging capabilities with our new system. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Hamptons International Film Festival, as well as presenting with new partners such as Hamptons Take 2 Documentary Film Festival and Sag Harbor Cinema Arts Center.”

“We are also very excited to debut Dine & Discuss – Continue the Conversation! After each Friday night film, a local restaurant will host a communal table to allow attendees to discuss the film over dinner with other audience members.” says Kirwin.

“We’re thrilled to bring internationally acclaimed documentaries to Southampton – the films were selected to reach a broad audience and with the intention of stimulating lively conversation at Dine & Discuss.” says SAC Board Member Elyn Kronemeyer. Kronemeyer is also responsible for bringing the annual Mountainfilm on Tour festival to SAC.

Special “Dine & Discuss” discounts and/or a pre-fixe menu will be made available. This new initiative will begin on 2/23 with DINA followed by “D & D” at Union Cantina. Additional eateries will be announced online prior to screenings.

The winter/spring film lineup will feature several new Academy Award-nominated features including Lady Bird, The Square, Faces Places, Loving Vincent, and The Breadwinner, plus award-winning films from major festivals including Tribeca and Sundance. Several screenings will also include Q&A’s with the filmmakers and industry professionals.
