Southampton Historical Museum: October Calendar

Saturday, October 6th
11:00 am – 4:00 pm
The Southampton History Museum celebrates life during the 19th century in Southampton with a variety of activities that harken back to a simpler, hands-on era when both adults and children alike pitched in to make an income for the family and to make a sustainable home life. And don’t forget to stop in at our bake sale and get yourself some wonderful homemade goodies (while supplies last). Admission to the museum will be $5, free for kids and members, for a self-guided tour.

Tiny Home v. Mansion

Which one would you choose to live in? A tiny house with 350 sq. ft. or a 20-room mansion from the Gilded Age? As part of Southamptonfest, the Southampton History Museum will welcome a small, portable home made by Tiny Hamptons to the grounds of the 20-room Rogers Mansion. Tiny Hamptons LLC is local, family-owned business specializing in the design and construction of Tiny Homes and will be showcasing one of their 350-sq-ft houses. This home on wheels has everything from a space for a queen-sized bed to an outdoor shower and a fireplace! Take a look at the Tiny House and compare it to the 20-room Rogers Mansion developed during America’s Gilded Age, 1870 to 1910. Both will be open to the public to compare different sizes and types of furnishings. Tiny Hamptons owners Jessica and Mark will be available to talk about creating your own tiny home.
