Southold Historical Society: Holidays Designer Show House

Home for the Holidays Designer Show House

Saturdays and Sundays, November 24 & 25, and December 1 & 2 from 1pm – 4pm.

Join Southold Historical Society this winter for its second annual Home for the Holidays Show House benefiting Southold Historical Society.

The Southold Historical Society Festive Victorian Decorators have transformed the iconic Victorian home of Ann Currie-Bell into a magical Christmas setting from the past. The house is part of the Southold Museum Complex, 55200 Main Rd, Southold.

A Victorian country home, the Show House was built in 1900 and lived in by only one family before becoming part of the Southold Historical Society. Deanna Witte-Walker, Society Director, states “Not everyone is able to attend our Candlelight Tour and visit this remarkable home. We are excited by the opportunity to open the doors of the Ann-Currie Bell house for these 2 weekends and share its “seasonal sparkle” with the community.”

The Southold Historical Society Victorian Decorators is a group of volunteers who have adorned the first floor rooms of the Ann Currie-Bell house for many years. The group includes volunteers: Cathy Campbell, Mary Dewey, Dorothy Phillips-Rooney, Emily Gundersen, Kathy Elak, Kathleen Ammerman and Penny Winters.

Paintings from the Historical Society’s Collection of art by local historic artists adorn the walls. Original period furniture complete the Holiday scene.

The Home for the Holidays Show House is open for viewing Saturdays and Sundays, November 24 & 25, and December 1 & 2 from 1pm – 4pm. Tickets ($10 for adults, children free) are available at the door or at the Southold Historical Society Office, 54325 Main Rd, Southold. Society office hours are Monday through Friday 10am-2pm.
