Our workshops and classes are open to all skill levels! Gifts from the hands are gifts from the heart and we hope this season you will connect with your creative side!
Wool Polish Folk Art Ornament
Saturday, November 11, 10am to 12pm
 
Polish embroidery motifs have been around for centuries and has been passed down through generations. In this class you will create an heirloom ornament that features a Polish embroidery motif that you will hand stitch on to pure wool felt.
 
Please bring small and larger scissors, and your basic sewing kit including any embroidery needles you may have, a thimble if you use one, and pins. Embroidery thread and wool will be provided.

Thanksgiving Centerpiece Class
Saturday, November 18, 9am to 12pm
 
Thanksgiving celebrates the bounty of the land and is also a chance to gather around a table with loved ones. Learn how to create your own natural Long Island Pumpkin centerpiece for your Thanksgiving table. Materials will be provided, but feel free to bring cuttings from your own garden.

GUIDED AUTUMN BIRD WALK, November 18

Don’t forget to join us for our annual Guided Autumn Bird Walk!
Please join Mary Laura Lamont, local naturalist and birding expert, on Saturday, November 18th for our annual bird watching hike! She will lead the search for autumn birds through the woods and fields of Hallockville and Hallock State Park Preserve. Bring binoculars, appropriate apparel, and sturdy footwear.

Christmas Cow Basket Workshop
Saturday, December 9, 10am to 4pm
 
Deck the halls with this charming rectangular splint-style basket made from natural rattan. To get in the festive spirit you may adorn your basket with a Pottery Cow nestled in a pine branch and little red bow around Miss Cow’s neck! A fun basket to learn to weave and finish with sturdy oak handle.
