Weaving on a Frame Loom
6:30 to 9pm
Join us for a two part class! Learn the foundation of this age old craft with the modern twist of a frame loom. Create your own one of a kind hand woven wall hanging full of color and texture. We will review the basics, learn new tricks and techniques, and explore the endless possibilities to this relaxing art form.

Bead and Button Making

This is a fiber artist and jewelry makers dream, custom buttons and beads for all of your projects!
Discover the beautiful objects you can make out of polymer clay. Students will learn the basics of creating solid and multi color skinner blends as well as traditional cane making techniques. Learn how to make one of a kind sets of buttons, beads, and pendants.

Introduction to Country Woodworking

Join North Fork woodworker, Tom Barry, for this three-hour exploration of pre-18th century country woodworking. Go back in time and use the same tools and techniques of early settlers used to make to make furniture, tools and kitchenware.
During this three hour introduction, you will have plenty of hands on experience splitting fresh greenwood, sitting at the shave-horse and using the drawknife and using the extraordinary foot powered pole lathe. No power tools are used; you supply the power to the tool as you learn the foundation of century’s old chair making.

Cozy Felted Slippers

Learn how to felt a cozy home made pair of slippers that are built to last AND custom made to fit you! This is a 3 dimensional technique class where we learn how to use a foam resist form. We’ll cut out a shape based on your own foot size to felt a pair of one of a kind slippers, clogs, or booties. These can be adorned with various luxury fibers, yarns and fabrics. You’ll never buy slippers again!

Book Binding Basics with Ash & Elm Press
10am to 1pm
Artists, writers, sketchers, scribblers will love this class! This introductory class will teach basic bookbinding skills through simple bookbinding styles. Attendees will become familiar with bookbinding tools, develop hand techniques, and learn about basic book structures. This hands on workshop will cover the materials used in bookbinding, as well as best practices for folding and cutting paper, using bookbinding tools, and different types of sewing methods, in addition to learning how to bind simple books.

Scherenschnitte: German Paper Cutting
10am to 1pm
Join artist Janice Nesta for a fun and interesting workshop! Sherenschnitte (pronounced sher-en-schnit-uh) is a German folk art that dates back hundreds of years. It is a paper cutting craft easily learned by beginners. The paper is folded and cut to create symmetrical designs that are mounted on a contrasting color of card stock. Today, the finished artwork can be used for framed artwork, cards and scrap-booking. You will finish several designs in class.
