Abstract Painting Workshop with Suzzanne Fokine
SERIES: Saturdays in June: 2nd, 9th, 23rd and 30th @ 10 am – 12:00 pm.
Professional artist Suzzanne Fokine, MFA, will help you create abstract expressive paintings. Topics include finding a visual metaphor, nature is shape, colors and line, optical vibrations, and expressing non-representational things like emotions and sound. Technical knowledge and guidance provided throughout, and workshops are open to all levels and mixed mediums.
Botanical Art Workshop with Barbara Stype
SERIES: Thursdays in June @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Ag Center at Charnews Farm, 3005 Young’s Avenue, Southold
Unleash your inner artist at this wonderful series! Learn to capture the garden’s beauty on paper with local botanical artist, Barbara Stype. Barbara will guide you in working with flowers, fruits, and other natural subjects. After a demonstration focused on shells, butterflies, birds and other items, you will develop your own skills and style. Group size is limited, prepaid registration required. Rain or shine.
Creating a Cutting Garden for Floral Bouquets with Summerhill Landscapes
Saturday, June 9 @ 1:00 pm
If you’ve ever wanted to grow flowers that would provide you with beautiful bouquets all season long, this is the workshop for you! Learn how to integrate a cutting garden into your existing flower bed, from bed preparation and layout, and planting and care. Space is limited, reservations required. Rain cancels. $5/person. The Vegetable Garden, Step 2 at Bridge Gardens

With the heat of summer upon us, many vegetables like radishes, leaf lettuce, spinach and peas fade away. But, it’s a good time to plant summer beets, beans, carrots and summer lettuce that germinate easily and thrive. Garden Manager Rick Bogusch will explain what and when to plant, as well as organic controls for pests like cabbage loopers, flea beetles, slugs and more.
$5/person. Free for Bridge Gardens members.
Tasting & Tour at Bridge Gardens with Roman Roth of Wolffer Estate Vineyards
Friday, June 29 @ 4:00 pm
Start your weekend at the first in our summer series of monthly guided walks featuring a local beverage partner! Roman Roth, the award-winning Winemaker at Wolffer Estate Vineyards, will share stories about his craft and provide tastings of his delicious wine before we set off for a walk with Garden Manager Rick Bogusch.
$20/person. $10/Bridge Gardens Member.
Nature Paddle on Big Fresh Pond with Mike Bottini
Saturday, June 30 @ 9:00 am
Big Fresh Pond, Southampton
Join naturalist Mike Bottini for a leisurely paddle on Big Fresh Pond in Elliston Park, North Sea as we look for a variety of wildlife, including the scent station of the river otter, and signs of the seasonal change from spring to summer. Don’t forget your binoculars for birding. Rain cancels.
$10/person if you bring your own kayak or canoe. Kayaks, canoes and standup paddleboards are available for rental. See website for details.
